JIU JITSU

A practical self defence program

Defend Yourself. Develop Your Character

Kumiai Ryu Ju Jitsu is a practical self-defence program designed for teens and adults. It blends traditional Gyokushin Ryu Aiki Jujutsu (Yoseikan style) with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, giving students a complete skillset for both standing and ground situations.

The focus is on leverage, timing, body movement, and calm decision-making rather than strength or aggression.

The program covers safe falling and rolling, standing self-defence, takedowns, positional control, ground escapes, submissions, and general awareness and confidence skills. All training is delivered in a structured, supportive environment with an emphasis on real-world application.

KR Ju Jitsu is suitable for beginners and experienced students aged 13 and above. It is ideal for anyone wanting practical self-defence, improved confidence, better fitness, and a positive training community and provides students with practical skills, confidence, and the ability to protect themselves in everyday life.

Shihan Paul Cale

The program has been developed under the guidance of Shihan Paul Cale, who holds 27 Dan grades across multiple martial arts systems with over 40 years of experience. His most notable credentials include 7th Dan in Kyokushin Budokai Karate with Judo, 7th Dan Shihan in Aikido Shudokan (Yoshinkan style), 5th Dan Fuku Shihan in Gyokushin Ryu Aiki Jujutsu, and 3rd Degree Professor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Jean Jacques Machado. Shihan Paul is an Australian Special Forces veteran and the creator of the Australian and New Zealand Army Combatives Program (ACP). In addition to Paul’s leadership, the program is supported by some of Australia’s most experienced BJJ black belts and subject-matter experts within the KRMAS community to ensure technical accuracy and high standards.
